The Back to the Bible Reading Plans

Today's Reading John 12.27-50

King James Version with Web Encyclopedia links: John 12

John 12.27-50
Jesus is a prophet like Isaiah and Jeremiah. He forthtold, that is, he warned the people about their sins and their need to turn back to God. he also foretold, He predicted the future. In this passage, He predicted he would die and rose from the dead. He gave the illustration of a kernel of wheat.

The Jews continued in their unbelief even when they heard what Jesus said and saw the miracles that Jesus did. This was to fulfil what Isaiah the prophet said in Isaiah 53.1; Isaiah 6.10. Verse 46 is a verse worth medidtating on: I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.
